Today I got a new toy in the mail…and I had to go try it out.  With Maddie arriving soon…95 days to be exact…I decided it would be nice just to have a small camera to throw in the diaper bag.  I love my big girl, but she is quite heavy to have on you at all times.  And I don’t want to always have to use my phone for a photo or video.  I’m a devoted Canon girl, but for a point and shoot I went Nikon.  And I’m so happy with my purchase :) I can’t wait to see what this little gem can do!!

Blooms Coming Soon

Hello…

So I’ve been away for a while.  I went on a little blogging break…for many reasons.  Life is still moving in warp speed.

A little glimpse into what has been going on the last few months:

• RN school is demanding, exhausting, and I’m so ready for it to be over! At least summer is just around the corner (3 weeks and counting!) and then one last semester stands between myself and my RN license!!
• Baby is growing…and so is my belly!  It’s hard to believe that I am just 1 week shy of being half-way there.  So far all is going perfectly for both of us.  And in 2 weeks I hope to know baby’s gender :)
• Work…lots of new and exciting changes have taken place in this department! I am now working for Covenant Hospice and totally LOVE it.  While it can be emotionally draining, I can’t imagine working anywhere else at this point.  And not to mention I work with an amazing group of individuals!!

My dear camera has been out sporadically.  It will be getting plenty of attention when baby arrives and will no longer feel so much neglect!  This afternoon I was able to snap a few quick shots at an Iris patch. 

Ok…back to studying for tonight!

As I was watching the butterflies go from flower to flower, this one caught my attention.  It is missing half of a wing! This little beauty didn’t let its flaw prevent it from going and doing what it so pleased!!

Libby turned 1 on Sunday…so that meant it was time for photos! We had a great time at Windmark Beach today, despite the major heat wave we have going on right now!!!

I was going through old photos the other day and came across these images.  They were taken in Cades Cove back in 2007!

The photo below is now one that I treasure.  This barn was one of my favorite of all the old barns and buildings that are in Cades Cove.  During a storm last year, this barn was reduced to rubble.  Such a loss to see this piece of history no longer standing!
