Happy New Year!

I can’t believe that 2011 has come and gone…but I am excited for all that 2012 has is store!!!

For NYE, I was at work, so not much excitement there! I’m still on break from class, but that too is quickly coming to an end.  I have orientation days at the college this week, but classes don’t officially begin until 1/13.  It has been so nice to be able to sit back and relax without the worries of homework or tests!!!

With the break I have also had the time to get my camera out and restore our long, lost friendship!!

Christmas Time Is Coming

Dear Santa,

I promise I’ve been a VERY good girl this year.  Ok…a MOSTLY good girl!  Will you please bring me a new toy or 2?  You know the ones I like.  They have SQUEEKIES in them!!!  And how ‘bout a few YUMMY treats too.  I’ve been watching my girlish figure, but a girl can splurge every once in a while.  I will be sure to leave you a tasty treat and some carrots for your reindeer.

{Woo-Hoo!}

There is one great thing about going back to school again…SPRING BREAK!  That’s right.  I get to do nothing but enjoy the next 10 days!  This also means I will be away from the computer for the most part as well.  I have set up my post to automatically publish for the next week.  I will make a few brief appearances here & there and will catch up on my blog reading at the end of the week.

What will I do with my time?  That is yet to be determined.  But I’m thinking that it will most definitely involve catching up on sleep, making friends with my camera again (I’m pretty sure she’s feeling neglected), and just enjoy some sunshine!

Happy New Year!!!

I kept it pretty low key for NYE last night. I’m not a big fan of being on the road with all the crazies, so stuck close to home and celebrated the evening with friends!  It was a great time and perfect night for a fire too!

{Out With The Old…}

And in with 2011!

I can’t believe that 2010 is over.  They weren’t kidding when they said time flies as you get older!

2010 was a year of many emotions.  Many ups and downs…many life lessons learned.  I cannot wait to see what 2011 will have in store!

I also cannot believe that I got my start in the blogging world a little over 6 months ago either!  Up ‘til then, I had tried to get blogging, but never really did much with it.  I am so glad that I am finding my rhythm and have found so many wonderful blogs!!!

With the New Year I hope to continue in finding me in the blogging community.  I know that time will be crunched very hard as I finish the last semester of nursing school though!  My goal for my blog also includes starting a 365 Project and seeing it all the way through the end of the year.

May each of you have a fabulous New Year!  See you in 2011!!!

{What Makes Christmas}

For each of us, there are traditions that we hold near and dear to our hearts.  Traditions that have been passed down through generations, and for some there are new traditions just beginning.

When I think of Christmas, there are many thoughts that come to mind:

  • Miracle on 34th Street
  • the smell of evergreen
  • hot chocolate with mini marshmallows
  • cinnamon rolls for Christmas breakfast
  • Christmas carols…with my fav being Where Are You Christmas
  • the joy of selecting on present to open Christmas Eve

The list could continue on and on.  But none of this would even be possible if it weren’t for a tiny babe born in a manger many years ago.

And so, I leave you with this…the real meaning of Christmas.

{Shopping Frenzy}

I have always loved the thrill of Black Friday shopping.  And yes, I am aware that many think I am absolutely out of my mind! But this year, we decided to change it up a little.

We decided to start the shopping at MIDNIGHT!  Yep…we are officially crazy people for sure now!!!

It was insane before 12:01am ever arrived at Walmart, and that trend continued throughout the wee morning hours.  And the crowds were certainly out in full force this year.  I believe there were definitely more out and about this year than the last few years.  Maybe it was because there were some really amazing deals!  And I also scored a couple really great deals online. 

And one of the best parts of it all…Coram’s (think Waffle House but better) at 3am!  YUM!!!

So I have contributed to the madness of Black Friday 2010…what about you?

{So…}

How did you spend you holiday weekend?  Anything fun or exciting?

Well…not much fun and excitement here.  I did however have a little fun taking photos of some friends and family!  With all of the school craziness, my poor camera is feeling very neglected.  So I showed it a little TLC.  My first session can be seen here.

The next bit of fun came when my
Mom decided she would like to get a few new photos.  It had been a while since she was the subject in front of the camera as well!  So here are a few shots from her mini session!  Enjoy :)

We the people…

of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

I am so thankful to live in a nation that grants us freedom.  And not only freedom, but choice.  As we celebrate the birthday of this great nation, please take a moment to thank those that have served and are serving to provide us our freedom.  Without their sacrifice, I shudder to think of where we would be!

God Bless America and Her Troops!
