About time the temps begin to relent, that is! It was so nice to walk outside and not feel like you need to get another shower. So while it lasts, I will enjoy every minute of it!!!
So now for something a little fun…
I was sent these questions and decided to turn it into a blog post. It will tell you a little more about me. And if you want, you can do the same!
1. Do you like Starbuck and what is your favorite drink? That would be a big YES! And my fav is White Chocolate Mocha :) It has my mouth watering just typing this!
2. Do you decorate for Fall? Nope…mostly due to the lack of time.
3. What is your favorite Fall clothing item or accessory? I have one jacket that I love! It was my Grandfather’s and is my favorite thing to wear on cool days. Not to mention…it looks really great with jeans!
4. What will you be for Halloween? I’m still undecided! Not much time left to figure it out either!
5. What is your favorite Fall activity? I love to get out and get pics as the season is changing!
6. What will you miss about Summer? Swimming! It is so relaxing to me and not to mention great exercise. I will not miss the crazy hot temps tho!
7. When will you start holiday shopping? Ha-Ha…we’ll be lucky if I am started by the first week of December. I am a last minute shopper and proud of it :)
8. What Fall TV show are you most excited about? Grey’s Anatomy and Brother’s & Sisters!!! Last season was great for both and oh how I’ve missed them over the Summer!
9. If you could choose on of the following which would it be…personal chef or personal trainer? Personal Trainer…I can cook, but choose not to 99% of the time. The trainer would be nice to give me a good kick in the rear when I don’t feel like exercising.
10. What is the last movie you saw? I just watched Legends of the Warriors. It was pretty good, but not my first choice. The one we wanted to see we missed :(
Wow…it has been a REALLY long day! So today, I offer you a look at the most adorable visitor that I have each evening. She is around so often that she doesn’t even try to hop away when you come near!
“Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is bliss, taste it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.”
These words really do say it all. Life is precious & fleeting. There are no guarantees as to what your next breath may hold. So many times we…and by we I am including myself…get caught up worrying about the little things, get angry over something that really isn’t worth getting angry over, and forget to smile. And I am so guilty of this!
Life is a challenge…a day by day, minute by minute challenge. But how much better would life be if we stopped looking at the glass half-empty? If we just stood up and faced the day to day challenges head-on instead of standing there complaining, I think we would start to see life in a totally new perspective!
There will always be challenges in our lives, it is up to us to decide how we will handle them!
Bring it on, Bring it ALL on…
Bring on the endless studying,
The crying jags, the all-nighters,
The lack of money, the weight gain,
The abandonment of friends & family,
The careplans, the heavy books,
The clinicals & loooong lectures,
The terrifying skills tests,
The feeling of total incompetence,
Bring on Nursing School!
Movie or movies?
It seems like I have been stuck on a few here lately. With the first being Alice in Wonderland. I absolutely LOVE it. Maybe it has something to do with the Tim Burton/Johnny Depp combo…but regardless, it has been playing quite often!
So what is your favorite(s) movie?
Ready to meet a few new friends out there in the blogging world? If so…click the picture above and join in the fun!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend :)
A blogging roll that is. I guess you can just say that I am making up for being such a slacker the last few weeks :)
Not long ago I came across a site that, in my opinion, is quite awesome! It is Photog Freebies. I am completely in love! They have all sorts of freebies to use with Photoshop and LightRoom. And let’s not forget about really great giveaways too!!!
So…what are you waiting for? Go check it out! Because I am sure you may fall in love too :)
Finally…after a long summer of waiting…it is time for all of my favorite shows to return! I don’t watch a lot of TV, but I do have a few shows that I am truly dedicated to! Top of my list being Grey’s Anatomy. I so cannot wait for the season premier. The anticipation is almost more than I can handle. Another long awaited return is CSI: New York, followed by Desperate Housewives, and Private Practice just to name a few!
My only dilemma will be juggling this crazy schedule of mine. Meaning getting homework & study time in, eating, getting sleeping and watching my favs. But I am pretty certain that my overloaded brain will come up with a solution. There is Hulo after all if I need to play catch-up :)
I have also noticed that there seems to be a change in the air. It has been quite nice to wake up and walk out in the mornings without pouring sweat. The days are still unbelievably hot, but it is nice to have a little break in the evenings and mornings.
September is flying by…much like most of 2010 has! It is so hard to believe that the holiday season is just around the corner. With the first being Halloween. That means I must get busy and figure out a costume. I am quite excited because they have approved us to wear costumes to class that day. This could turn out to be quite interesting! I am sure there will be many pics from that day.
I also realized last night that I am 1/4 of the way through nursing! Some days it seems like we just started…others seem like we have been there for years! 9 months ‘til we graduate!!!
That if we would simply take a moment to step away from all of the chaos of life…we could see the beauty of life. There are little reminders all around us. But most often we plow right on through our day and simply don’t notice.
So I challenge you (and me too) today…stop and look around you. We really do have so much to be thankful for.
I have so missed the blogging world this week! This week has been INSANE. And I am so thankful that it has ended!!! It has been one of those weeks that leaves you wanting to crawl back in bed and pull the covers over your head.
And for me…there will not be much of anything exciting this weekend. Got another test on Monday. So me and the books have date!
Hope this week has been great for each of you…now have a little fun this weekend for me :)
This was most certainly a Monday…in every sense of the word! And that is really all I have to say about that!
Hope everyone had a great weekend and here is looking to a much better Tuesday :)
September 11, 2001…a day that we will never forget. A day that brings tears to our eyes each time we see pictures. And most certainly we will never forget where we were or what we were doing when this tragedy struck our nation.
We had just arrived to our Accounting II class at the college. All of us had heard over the radio that a plane had struck the WTC. There would obviously be no accounting work take place…we immediately turn on the TV and begin to watch the tragedy unfold before our eyes. The first plane had hit the South Tower just before us getting to class. So we intently watch the news coverage, trying to figure out what would have caused a plane to crash into the building.
Then…as we are watching the coverage, a second plane hits the North Tower. There are no words to describe what we had just witnessed. Shock, disbelief, and tears were all that were present in that classroom. No one spoke for several minutes as we were all trying to process the image that would be forever burned into our memory. But that was not the end. Flight 77 then crashes into the Pentagon. Almost an hour after the first plane hit, we are watching the South Tower crumble.
It is at this point the college begins to clear the campus. There is no longer any question as to what is happening. America has fallen under attack. This was the case across the nation. For my generation, this was the first time we had faced such tragedy.
9 years later…we remember the loss of innocent lives. So many arrived to work that day unaware that they would soon take their final breaths. It is a stark reminder that life is so precious. That we are not guaranteed a tomorrow. Today, cherish those that you love and remember those that are aching to hold a loved one that was lost.
How true this saying is. Life is never a cake walk. I know there are times that I would love to just throw in the towel. To say ENOUGH. But if we were to do that every single time life got hard, what would we learn? Absolutely nothing.
Through tears we find strength and an inner fight that we never knew we had. But it is in the laughter we learn that we can move forward. Things will be ok. That this too shall pass. And with that laughter comes a much clearer outlook on life!
How did you spend you holiday weekend? Anything fun or exciting?
Well…not much fun and excitement here. I did however have a little fun taking photos of some friends and family! With all of the school craziness, my poor camera is feeling very neglected. So I showed it a little TLC. My first session can be seen here.
The next bit of fun came when my Mom decided she would like to get a few new photos. It had been a while since she was the subject in front of the camera as well! So here are a few shots from her mini session! Enjoy :)
From behind the camera that is!
I am not usually the subject in front of the camera…but yesterday I made the exception to get a few new shots! It feels a little strange to be on the other side too. These are a few of my favs!
And a big thanks to my mom for taking these shots!!! Go check out some of her own work over on her blog!
at Brittlee and Gene’s wedding day! It was an absolutely beautiful day for a wedding. Enjoy this little peak…the rest will be for the bride to post :)
Yesterday I had the opportunity to give back to a very special individual…Duke Underwood! Duke is an awesome evangelist and has been in the ministry for 20+ years, ministering to all ages.
It was great to give back to someone who spends all of his time and energy giving to others. Go check out his website when you have a moment!
So…I know that I recently did a blog makeover, but still just wasn’t feeling it. Now I think I like where this is going.
I really wanted something more fun and a little on the funky side. And this template really seemed to fit what I was looking for! And if you notice…that pesky blogger bar at the top of the page is now banished. That in part is due to the fact that my blog has been given its very own name. The direct link to the site is www.whenyoustumbledance.com. However, if you have it saved under the .blogspot.com address it will automatically be directed to the new address. Seriously, no worries for all 10 of my readers out there ;)
I still have a few more embellishments to add in the next few days, but overall the main feel of the blog is where it will stay for while. So let me know what you think!!!
